If ESPN is trying to amend the terms & conditions of the original contract

then the ACC isn't required to agree to all the proposed amendments. In theory the ACC can accept whatever proposed amendments it wants, reject whatever proposed amendments it doesn't want, and continue using unmodified terms and conditions from the original contract.

What is unclear is whether the ACC's rejection of some of the proposed amendments is enough for ESPN to justify terminating the contract early. Hence why I asked the questions about ESPN withholding money down the road. Unless the amounts were already spelled out in the original contract, which I think is unlikely, then any future increases would require a modification to the contract that (probably) has to be agreed upon by both parties. Ultimately it would depend on how the original contract was written.
